| Kanya Tjapangati is a senior Pintupi artist, who was born around 1951 at Pamatjatunya, west of Jupiter Well in Western Australia. One of the many bush people from the desert, who were taken to Papunya Settlement in the 1960s by one of the Northern Territory's Welfare Branch patrols, Kanya began painting for Papunya Tula Artists in 1981 and has since established himself as a well respected artist. Besides participating in numerous group exhibitions, this artist has also had a solo exhibition in 2003 titled `Paintings`, which was held at William Mora Galleries in Melbourne, Australia.
